The grid was not enough
We could save a 2×2 arrangement and recreate it later. But if all four terminals opened in the home directory, the result was technically correct and emotionally disappointing.
The fix was to persist each session’s working directory. Backend, frontend, infrastructure, and agent return to their places—like a band that knows where to stand, only with more logs.
Names that help
We refined session renaming and sidebar organization too. A pane named “Terminal 4” is acceptable for about thirty seconds. After that, “API,” “Tests,” or “Do not close, seriously” is more useful.
Save repeated decisions
The layout philosophy is simple: yesterday’s useful decisions should not become today’s chores. Opening a project can be one action, not a small archaeological reconstruction.
